Join Community Celebrations and NAAMCC for Juneteenth 2025! Although the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center (NAAMCC) will be closed on Thursday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. Our team will participate in several free community celebrations throughout the region. We invite you to join us at the events listed below.   

Sat., June 14 | 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Juneteenth and FatherFest Celebration - The Gammon House 620 Piqua Place, Springfield, OH 45506

Celebrate with us at the Gammon House, a historic stop on the Underground Railroad. This year’s theme is “Progression of the Church – From Safehouse to Freedom.” Enjoy house tours, food and craft vendors and live musical entertainment. More information: Events - The Gammon House  

Thurs., June 19 | 12 p.m.-4 p.m. Juneteenth Jubilee Day Festival - Ohio History Center, 800 E. 17th Ave., Columbus, OH

Gussie Miller has made a career in the world of contemporary jazz, where Al Jarreau is king and Marcus Miller supplies the bass! Gussie, who came of age in Columbus, Ohio, continues to collaborate with Marcus and is currently working on his own solo album.

Miller's single "Hold On" is also heard during the opening of this interview, which spans many topics... including the application of MIDI, "I Think I Love My Wife" and even R.L. Stine and Nickelodeon!
