Jazzy 88.9 WCSU Salutes Black History Month - Rhine McLin

February is Black History Month and Jazzy 88.9 WCSU is paying tribute to the many African-Americans who have made a difference in the Miami Valley. Today we salute The Honorable Rhine McLin.

In 2001 she became the first black woman to be elected as Mayor of Dayton serving two terms. Earlier in her career she was appointed as State House Of Representative, preceded by her father, the Honorable C.J McLin.

She would later be elected to the State Senate and named minority leader completing the term of Ben Espy. Today, Rhine McLin currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party and spends time in the Miami Valley area urging African-Americans to vote. This Black History tribute is brought to you by your Miami Valley Jazz authority. Jazzy 88.9 WCSU.
