Dr. Derrick Lee Foward, 34th president of the Dayton Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is a native of Dayton, Ohio and a successful businessman in the community for more than 30 years. He is the longest serving President in the 110-year history of the Dayton Branch NAACP.
For two decades, Dr. Foward has been a strong advocate with the NAACP for Civil and Human Rights locally, statewide and nationally. In 2023, during the 54th NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles, California, he was awarded the NAACP Image Award for Activist of the Year.
Dr. Foward, a graduate of Central State University Ebony Class of 1990, was inducted into the Central State University Alumni Achievement Hall of Fame on March 1, 2016. Dr. Forward recently joined WCSU-FM general manager Charles Fox for this exclusive and enlightening interview.
