ALBUM REVIEW

Robert Sanae, formerly with the group Zapp featuring Roger and Tom Braxton, who performed with bassist Wayman Tisdale, whips up a nice mixture of progressive, contemporary, chill and smooth jazz with their album “The Other Side.”

These two horn players have combined for over 50 years of experience in the music industry. Sanae flashes his songwriting skills on nine of the 10 songs on the disc with the exception of its arrangement of the Stylistics “People Make The World Go Round.” “Groovis,” a funky mid tempo cut, features Sanae who laid down tracks on the bass, keyboards and trumpet. Underrated Paul Caver adds flavor and zip on electric guitar. "What's up Tis ?" is a nice tribute to the late Wayman Tisdale.

“The Other Side” has something to offer for all jazz fans and is only the beginning of what these talented musicians has in store for future productions.
