Album Review

"From Manhattan To Staten" is the debut album from Down To The Bone. The London, England-based band, fronted by radio personality Stuart Wade who co-wrote and composed every song on this project, added the perfect blend of acid jazz, hip hop/R&B and contemporary jazz concepts that gushes with an up to date progressive sound. If you're into finger snapping, toe tapping  danceable jazz this is one for the record collection. "Staten Island Groove", is a bouncy tune that grabs you with a lively synthesizer/electric piano/vibraphone medley topped off with a James Brown-like groove on the Saxophone and rhythm guitar.

"Brooklyn Heights" is the perfect 'get and move' cut featuring keyboardist Neil Angilley's creative improvisation. "The Zodiac" is rhythm-heavy with every instrument complimenting the other making it the perfect cruising down the highway song. "From Manhattan To Staten" delivers a strong message about their experiences in the club scene in the city that never sleeps rapidly embraced their style  much to the chagrin of their British homeboys who were a few steps behind.
