Central State University Press Conference Introduction

"We Don't Want to Survive; We Want to Thrive"

-so says Dr. Morakinyo Kuti – appointed 10th president of Central State University, in a recent press conference on July 19th, 2024… focus on student excellence, according to representatives of Central State University, begins with a conversion process and interdisciplinary coursework, guided by faculty and staff, so that more students take the stage to graduate and feel confident pursuing a career.

Dr. Kuti reminds us: "anybody that knows me knows what I believe... that whatever we do is because of our faculty, staff and students. Therefore, we'll be investing in faculty, staff and students to make sure we achieve the optimum outcome."

This process is broken down into the Six Pillars of Access, described further in this presentation by the interim Provost, Dr. Amy Hobbes… methods that begin with recruitment, but are also put to use within the newly merged College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Education, known henceforth as CHASE... introduced by interim Dean Dr. Lillian Drakeford.
