Album Review

Soprano saxophonist Marion Meadows is a household name in contemporary jazz circles. He has clearly earned it here with "Dressed To Chill," an album that taps deep into his creative bag of tricks of rhythmic, pitch-control tunes hitting on several different musical styles from trip hop to jazz fusion and from house to the early experiments of Wes Montgomery in which you can hear remnants of the guitar legend on “Remember Me.”

“Coco Flow,” a delightful mid-tempo tune is where Marion flashes his skills on soprano and  alto sax as well as flute. “Dressed To Chill” is a vibrant finger-popping groove that features session man Mel Brown's bouncy bass line and Chuck Loeb's timely guitar solo. Producer, composer, programmer & keyboardist Michael Broening is the straw that stirs the drink here as he provides those authentic, skeletal wispy rhythm loops. 'Dressed To Chill' is another strong showing for Marion Meadows that will not disappoint his fan base while wheeling in a few new ones.
